The ACT Brumbies are inviting aspiring young rugby players to put their hand up for selection in the 2026 Super Rugby U16s program, with registrations now open for upcoming open trials.
Male players born in 2010 or 2011 are eligible to attend the trial and be considered for selection in the ACT Brumbies Super Rugby U16s squad, which will compete in the 2026 tournament.
The program will run from 20 July to 11 October 2026, with match play commencing from 19 September.
- Eligibility: Male players born in 2010 or 2011
- Date: Saturday, 4 July 2026
- Time: 10:00am – 1:00pm
- Venue: Brumbies HQ
Players attending the trial will be assessed through game-play activities, with selectors also considering performances from the NSW State Championships, ACT and Southern NSW local competitions, and other cross-code sporting environments.
All players are required to bring:
- Rugby boots
- Mouthguard
- Water bottle
- Appropriate playing gear
Please note that strapping will not be provided on the day.
To assist with planning, all players wishing to attend must register their attendance prior to the trial.
Players are encouraged to arrive early, complete check-in upon arrival and be ready to commence at the scheduled start time.
The ACT Brumbies encourage all eligible players to take advantage of the opportunity to challenge themselves against the region's best young talent and showcase their abilities for potential selection.
Players eligible for the U15 age group are also encouraged to attend the U16 trial.
Selection of an initial wider training squad for the 2026 Brumbies U15 Program will take place following the completion of the Super Rugby U16s selection process. Any U15-eligible player who is unsuccessful in securing a place in the U16 program will remain eligible for consideration in the U15 program.
