The BentSpoke John I Dent Cup will kick-off on Saturday 15 April with the ACT and SNSW Rugby Union confirming their premier 1st grade draw for 2023.

JIDC Draw

Celebrating its 85th year, the BentSpoke John I Dent Cup returns this season with a full schedule of games, Penrith Emus returning for a seven-club competition with a four-stage finals series in August to determine a winner of the prestigious silverware.

The defending champions Queanbeyan Whites kick off their season with a bye, while 2022 Grand-Finalists the Canberra Royals will welcome Penrith at home for their season opener.

Every 1st grade game from the 17 round season will be livestreamed through Bar TV.

Draws for all other grades are still to be confirmed.

Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies Competitions and Rugby Services Manager, Mathew Vowles said: “It’s very exciting for us to reveal the draw for the 2023 John I Dent Cup season.”

“Last year delivered high-quality and exciting rugby, so there’s no doubt as we celebrate the competition’s 85th year, that the season will be even bigger than before.

“The John I Dent Cup has a long and prestigious history, being the pinnacle men’s competition in the ACT and SNSW, so we’re looking forward to honouring the players, coaches and staff who have come before us.

“This season, we continue a full schedule of games for our seven premier clubs, and we look forward to a full finals series in August.

“We’re excited to release our full schedule of games across the grades, including our Women’s Premier 15’s competition, and get things kicked off on 15 April."
