The Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies are excited to unveil the 2024 Capital Cup coaching selections ahead of the annual City v Country fixtures taking place at Jamison Oval on the 14th of September.

The men's City side will be lead by Joe Kolokihakaufisi and Cory Larsen while Country are fronted by a duo of Nick McCarthy and Darcy Eason.

The women's matches will also be joint efforts as the selected City coaches are Jono Andreou and Dan Solofa. The final coaching selections are Mark Macarthur, Jordan Brooker, Tyson Morgan for the Country women.

The annual Capital Cup event serves as an effective selection platform for the ACT Griffins and Kestrels squads. Taking part in the event will be City, Country and ACT U19's squads in the men's fixtures, meanwhile the women's will feature City and Country sides only.

Contesting the Australian Rugby Shield in October, the Kestrels will travel to the Sunshine Coast, while the Griffins will take on a Brumbies XV in late September.

City team selectors have been watching the last month of competition and will seek nominations as the John I Dent Cup and Premier 15's seasons draw to a close.

Brumbies deputy CEO and General Manager Community Rugby, Craig Leseberg said "Congratulations to all the coaches who have been selected to lead the City and Country programs. While its well-deserved recognition, it also provides an opportunity for them to progress and evolve at a higher level”.

“The Brumbies Provincial Championships, saw an outstanding display of regional talent and provided a great platform to select the Brumbies Country teams to contest the Capital Cup”.

“Providing a clear and accessible pathway for local and regional talent is hugely important to us. The Capital Cup is a massive opportunity for aspiring male and female players to showcase their talents and push for selection in the ACT&SNSW Griffins or Kestrels and beyond."

"It’s also a vital underpinning program for our Super W team and provides invaluable preparation for the ACT Brumbies U19s leading into the Super Rugby U19 Championship 2024”.
