Southern Inland (SIRU), South Coast and Monaro have named their squads for this Saturday’s Brumbies Provincial Championships in Goulburn.

Poidevin Oval will host the Men’s, Women’s and Juniors games. With SIRU, South Coast and Monaro each entering a team in the men’s division, they will play a round robin competition featuring 1 x 40 minute period against each opposition. While the women will play a singular game with 2 x 40 minute halves.

The U12, U14 and U16 Boys will play from 11:30am, the women kicking off at 2:10pm and the men’s games scheduled at 11am, 1:20pm and 4pm.

The annual event, proudly supported by Goulburn Mulwaree Council, forms part of the Brumbies representative program, with the Brumbies Country team to be selected post-event to compete against Brumbies City squads. From this, ACT & SNSW Representative teams will be selected to compete at the Australian Rugby Shield against other amateur representative squads such as NSW Country, QLD Country, SA, Tasmania, WA, NT and Victoria.

Both the Men’s and Women’s fixtures will be streamed via Bar TV.

Brumbies deputy CEO and General Manager Community Rugby, Craig Leseberg said: “I commend all of the players who have been selected for their respective regional representative teams from the South Coast, Monaro and Southern Inland”.

“The strength of these squads and programs continues to impress and I’m certain we will see some exciting individual and team performances throughout the championships”.

“This is a great opportunity to showcase regional talent and an important first step in competing for selection in both the Brumbies Country and ACT&SNSW Griffins & Kestrels programs”.
