Uni-Norths Owls Rugby Club has proudly unveiled a Women’s Honour Board recognising the outstanding contributions of female players who have represented the club at the international level.
The project was spearheaded by head coach Andrew Balmaks and his wife Katy, with the aim of celebrating the club’s long-standing commitment to women's rugby. The Board acknowledges both past and present players who have reached the pinnacle of the sport, including those currently representing their countries on the international stage.
“To have this level of talent is a true reflection of the club’s dedication to building a strong women’s program.” said Balmaks (Andrew).
“Our vision is to grow it into a premier program—not just in Canberra, but nationally.”
The unveiling event was attended by several current and former international representatives, including Wallaroos Ashley Fernandez, Faitala Moleka, Lydia Kavoa, and Tania Naden. Fijian international Iris Verebalavu also featured, along with former Wallaroos Emerena Marsh-Aviga and Georgia O’Neill.
The board also honours notable names such as former Wallaroos captains Grace Hamilton and Ashleigh Hewson, as well as Fijiana representatives Anasimeci Korovata and Talei Qalo Wilson.
