The ACT and SNSW Rugby Union are pleased to announce a new structure for the Griffins program which will give non-contracted players from across our region a pathway to higher honours.
The Griffins, the traditional representative side for the ACT, will be renamed the ACT and SNSW Griffins, better representing the entire Brumbies region.
The first step on this pathway will be for our regional players who will look to make respective representative side; South Coast, Monaro and Southern Inland, and compete in the Brumbies Provincial Championships held in Wagga Wagga in June.
From this tournament, a Brumbies Country side will be selected, to compete in a three-team tournament against Brumbies City North and Brumbies City South on 17 September. The Brumbies City North and City South sides will be selected from the seven Bentspoke John I Dent Cup clubs.
The ACT and SNSW Griffins side will be named following that tournament, giving the best of non-contracted talent in the Brumbies catchment area a clear pathway to representing the region.
